Lithium-ion battery technology
This new type of battery has decisive
advantages over conventional Ni-Cd
batteries:
• No memory effect, i.e. regardless of
its charge status the battery can be
recharged at any time before or after
use without loss of capacity.
• Extremely low self-discharge, so it is
ready for use even after longer
storage periods.
• Light in weight
• Long service life
Charging the battery
The screwdriver battery is not fully
charged by the manufacturer. Before using
it for the first time, the machine must be
charged. To do this, insert the charging
plug (11) into the socket (9) and connect
the charger (10) to the power supply
(Fig. 3). During the charging process the
red control LED (2) will light up (7a, Fig. 2).
The red control LED will extinguish after
completion of the charging process.
CAUTION! Do not exceed the
maximum charging time of
3–5 hours!
8 – Operation and mode of
working
Placing the tools (Figs. 4+5)
Insert the bit adapter (4) into the bit holder
(5) as far as it will go. Select a suitable bit
(a) and insert it into the bit adapter.
68
If using socket wrench inserts (d), the
adapter (c) must be inserted into the bit
adapter and the wrench socket fitted
into it (Fig. 5).
Bits from 50 mm and upward (not
included in the delivery) can also be
inserted into the bit holder direct.
Select direction of rotation,
clockwise/counterclockwise
Inserting screws: Set switch for clock -
wise or counterclockwise rotation (2) to
"Clockwise"
as shown in Fig. 1.
Loosening screws: Set switch for clock -
wise or counterclockwise rotation (2) to
"Counterclockwise"
Fig. 1.
The set direction of rotation is indicated
in the LED display (7) through the green
LED's (b) unscrew for left-hand/screws
and tighten for (c) right-hand/screws.
Before starting up
Insert wood screws loosely in the predrilled
screw holes. Screw machine screws lightly
into the thread. Fit a suitable bit or socket
wrench insert to the battery screwdriver
and locate it firmly on the screw.
Starting and stopping
ATTENTION! Risk of
overtightening from driving
screws in too far. Observe
screwdriving operation and, if
necessary, break off a little earlier and
tighten the screw by hand (see below).
Carry out trial screwing!
