Install the Handshower (cont.)
To Use With Bath Spout: Remove existing bath spout. Your new
spout requires a 1/2" or 3/4" pipe nipple (not supplied) to extend
1/2" (1.3 cm) from wall. Apply pipe sealant (teflon tape) to
threads. If a 1/2" pipe nipple is used, fasten the supplied 1/2"
bushing adapter. Install spout by inserting the end of a wrench or
screwdriver in the spout outlet. Do not tighten by using diverter
knob or side outlet on spout, or damage may result. Fasten hose
coupling to side outlet of spout.
Turn the cold and hot water supply off.
From the top of the bath or finished deck, insert the machine end
of the decorative hose into the hose guide and through the
mounting hole.
Wall Bracket Installation
Two plastic brackets are supplied. The small bracket holds the
handshower with the spray head facing the wall. The large
bracket holds the handshower with the spray head facing the
bath.
Place the bracket at the desired wall position, allowing sufficient
slack in hose for easy removal of handshower.
Use the brackets as a guide to drill two 1/4" (6 mm) holes in the
wall. Insert and press in the two plastic anchors (supplied).
Fasten bracket with washers and screws (supplied).
Slide Bar Installation
Provide sufficient backing behind the wall to support slide bar.
This may be a stud positioned behind the wall for support.
Locate slide bar over backing at desired height. Allow for
sufficient slack in the hose for easy removal of handshower. Do
not use anchors to support the slide bar to plaster or tile.
Pull metal caps off plastic brackets at top and bottom.
Drill holes at top and bottom through wall into stud, using plastic
brackets as guides. Fasten bar with four wood screws (supplied).
Push metal caps into place over plastic brackets.
Swivel Mounting Installation
Swivel mounting bracket is used to hold the handshower on the
slide bar or wall hanger.
Fasten hose coupling to swivel mounting bracket with gasket
(supplied).
