2. DESCRIPTION

1 Selector
To switch the adapter ON and OFF and select the basic
functions:
I on the C.A 801: selection of the measurement unit (°C or °F).
I on the C.A 8003: selection of the measurement sensor
(T1 or T2) or RCD measurement (T1-T2).
2 Verification of sensor operation and connection
I For the C.A 801: an «ON» LED (green).
- LED off: selector set to OFF.
- LED on: instrument on, selector on °C or °F with the K
sensor connected to input T1.
- LED flashing: instrument on but K sensor not connected
or not functioning or outside range (> 1000°C).
NB: For measurements under -40°C, range overshoots
must be monitored on the multimeter: displayed value
less than -40 mV.
I For the C.A 803: two «°C» and «°F» LEDs (green)
- LEDs off: selector set to OFF.
- «°C» or «°F» LED on: instrument on, selector on T1, T2
or T1-T2 with K sensors connected to inputs T1 and T2.
- «°C» or «°F» LED flashing: instrument on, but K sensor(s)
not connected to T1 and/or T2 or not functioning or outside
range (> 1000°C).
NB: Before measuring T1-T2, check that the temperatures
are higher than -40°C (or -40°F) by setting the switch
to T1 and then T2.
3 Red «LOW BATT» LED
I LED on: low battery, must be changed (see 6.1).
I LED off: battery OK.
4 Ø 4 mm safety terminals
(standard 19 mm centre distance).
To connect the adapter directly to the multimeter.
5 Thermocouple connection terminals
To connect the K thermocouples.
6 Pushbutton (for the C.A 803 only)
To select the measurement units: °C or °F.
