PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
• To make drilling easier, make sure that the broken threaded bolt is clean and levelled flush using a
file in order to make drilling easier.
• Make sure that the tool is aligned correctly and has been tightened.
• Use the alignment pin (17) (8 mm on one end, 10 mm on one end) to align and set drilling jig A. This
is necessary if the threaded bolt has broken off under the upper edge of the cylinder head, intake
manifold, etc. and / or an alignment to the internal thread is required. The alignment pins (17) are
guided into the present internal thread in order to carry out the alignment of the tool (1).
• Always start to drill out using the 4 mm pilot drill bit.
• Make sure that the drill bit stop depth is set correctly before drilling.
• Always wear safety glasses and safety gloves during the drilling procedure.
• BGS technic KG is not liable for damage that is caused by the incorrect use of this tool.
USE
1. Preparation
1 Arm with female thread for the central screw
2 Arm with slot for the central screw
3 Arm with countersink borehole for the central screw
4 Central screw
5 Grub screws
NOTE: the following installation of the drilling jig is an example; the position of the guide and alignment
tool may vary in the drilling jig depending on the location of the sheared bolt.
Insert two guide sleeves M8 (15) or M10 (16) into two mounting
holes of the drilling jig from above and fix in place by tightening the
grub screws with 2 mm internal hexagon key (18).
Position the arms fitted with the guide sleeves (15 or 16) on two bolts
as shown in the figure.
Screw on two hexagon nuts M10x1.5 (8) or M8x1.25 (9) finger-tight.
