4. SETTING PROCEDURE AND DEFINITION OF THE PARAMETERS
4.1 SETTING PROCEDURE
When the whole system is connected the following steps have to be
followed to start the system up:
1. Set the local parameters in each one of the installation components
(UDat / UDat Power+, UValves, UCounts, UVision, etc.). These local
parameters are: address, End of Line resistor and Filter CAN (this one
only for UDat / UDat Power+)
2. Set the global parameters of the installation from the UTrack, these
parameters define the hose reels, tanks, language, scenario of data
introduction, etc.
3. Make the probes calibration if UTank is installed.
4. Send this configuration of the global parameters from the UTrack to
the rest of the system.
4.3 END OF LINE (EOL) RESISTORS
(FOR TWO-CONNECTOR UDATS)
In the standard case, the components in the end of the network will have
the line end resistor connected.
The EOL resistors have to be set at the ends of the CANBUS installation.
In the above figure, the EOL are set at the UNet and the UDat (blue dot).
If the installation is Wi-Fi based or Hybrid based, the EOL resistors have to
be set at the end of each CANBUS.

4.2 ADDRESS DEFINITION
Each component on the network must have an address.
Each component must have an address that is unique in its family.
3 types of families are distinguished:
- Family I. UDat / UDat+
- Family II. UValve, UCount, UMeter / UMeter+.
- Family III. UView.
- Family IV. UTank.
The numeration in each family goes from 1 to 127, without leaving
EMPTY SPACES:
- The UDat / UDat Power+ will have the following numeration:
1, 2, 3, etc...
- The UValve, UCount, UMeter / UMeter+ 1, 2, 3, etc...
Note: In the case of this family, the address corresponds to the number
of a hose reel.
- The UViews are numbered with 1, 2, 3 etc...
- The UTanks are numbered with 1, 2, 3 etc...
Two units in the same family must not have the same address.
4.4 END OF LINE (EOL) RESISTORS
(FOR THREE-CONNECTOR UDATS)
In this case, there is a main CANBUS line (which is the one that connects
the UDat / UDat Power+ / UTank / UNet and the secondary CANBUS lines
that connect the UDat / UDat Power+ with the dispensing elements
(UValve / UMeter / UMeter+ / UCount and UView as well)
The main CANBUS line will require EOL resistor at both ends and the
secondary CANBUS will only require EOL resistor at the end which is NOT
the UDat / UDat Power+ since the UDat / UDat Power+ has got a preset
EOL resistor.
