Note: If you are going to connect to your laboratory information system, you must
configure each of the following settings.
Nurse ID:
Select a method of entry. Enter the ID by
scanning a barcode or typing information using the BiliChek
keypad.
1st and 2nd Patient ID:
enter the patient ID. You can enter the ID by scanning a
barcode or typing the information using the on-screen
keyboard. In addition, you can select None if you do not
want to enter a patient ID.
1st and 2nd ID Type:
will be entering. The options are: medical record number,
patient name, or date of birth. If you entered None for the
1st and or 2nd patient ID setting above, you will not need to
enter the ID type.
If the unit loses network connectivity or

is unable to connect to the network, this is the amount of
time during which the unit tries to reconnect to the network
before generating an on-screen alert (none, 1 minute, 5
minutes, or 30 minutes).
In addition, when the BiliChek unit is on the charger base, the
following options are visible in the Setup menu and required for
connectivity. Contact your Information Technology department to
receive the proper settings for connectivity.

Important! Network settings are stored in the charger base. If you use a
different BiliChek unit with the charger base you will not need to configure the
network settings again.
