Hold the motor shaft in place by inserting the Allen key
(6 mm) in the other side of the motor shaft.
Loosen the blade bolt 6 with the second Allen key by
turning in clockwise direction. Remove the blade bolt 6
and the outer flange 5.
Actuate the lever for locking the handle 3, so that the
lower blade guard 7 moves upward, and remove the
saw blade 8.
Mount the saw blade 8 on the retainer 35 of the inner
flange 33; make sure that the teeth at the bottom edge
of the blade point towards the fence.
Mount the outer flange 5 correctly again. The outer
flange 5 must engage.
Lock the blade shaft again and tighten the blade bolt
6 turning in anticlockwise direction.
Initial Operation
Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of
the power source must correspond with the data on
the type plate of the machine.
Before using, release the transport
safety-lock.
Adjusting the fence (see figure I)
Loosen the lock for the fence 9. Move the fence 16
and then tighten again.
Note: The fence must not touch the saw blade.
Securing the workpiece (see
figure Q)
Ensure that the workpiece always faces against the
saw table 10 and the fence 16.
Use the workpiece clamp 17 if the workpiece is bent
or warped.
When sawing long workpieces, use suitable table
extensions and supports.
Setting the mitre angle (see figure J)
Loosen the mitre clamping knob 13 and press the mitre
arm 12 up. Adjust the rotating table 14 according to
the mark on the scale:
• Turning leftwards = Angle adjustment at right
edge of rotating table
• Turning rightwards = Angle adjustment at left
edge of rotating table
The mitre lock automatically engages at 0°, 15°,
22.5°, 31.62°, 45° and 50°. For intermediate
angles tighten the locking knob.
Setting the bevel angle (see
figure N)
Hold the machine by the handle 2.
Release the lock lever 20 and tilt the saw head 25 left-
wards. If required, readjust the bevel angle end stop
44 with the screw.
Adjust the required bevel angle on the bevel scale 21.
Tighten lock lever 20 again.
Switching On and Off
To turn the saw ON, press the On/Off switch 1 while
pressing and holding the lever for locking the handle 3.
To turn the tool OFF, release the On/Off switch
1again. There is no lock-on for continuous operation.
Speed preselection (KGS 270-60 E)
(see figure A)
Set the dial control 29 to the desired value. The
required speed depends on the saw blade being used
and on the material to be cut:
• High speeds for soft materials, e.g. wood.
• Low speeds for hard materials, e.g. hardwood.
Sawing cuts
Pull the saw head 25 by the handle 2 to the front posi-
tion.
Press the lever for locking the handle 3, switch the
machine on and tilt down the saw head into the work-
piece.
Push the saw head through the workpiece with uniform
feed.
Release the saw head upward again. Release the
On/Off switch 1 and the lever for locking the handle
3 again.
Basic Settings
Before any work on the machine itself,
pull the mains plug.
The machine has already been factory-set. However,
after transport or for inaccurate cutting angles, read-
justing can be required.
