6. Install the Handles

To adjust the handle position, remove the handle assembly and turn
the spline adapter 1/4 turn. Re-install the spline adapter. Check the
handle position. The levers should be horizontal when the handles
are closed. Repeat the procedure until the proper handle position is
achieved.
Remove the handles. Apply plumbers putty or other sealant to back
surface of each handle escutcheon according to the putty
manufacturer's instructions.
Securely tighten the handle assembly by tightening the handle
bonnet onto the threaded sleeve.
Press the escutcheon firmly against the wall.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.

7. Complete the Installation

Turn on the water supplies and check the installation for leaks.
Repair as needed.
