Accuracy Check and
Calibration
NOTE:
• The laser tools are sealed and calibrated at the factory to
the accuracies specifi ed.
• It is recommended to perform a calibration check prior to
its fi rst use and then periodically during future use.
• The laser tool should be checked regularly to ensure its
accuracies, especially for precise layouts.
• Transport lock must be in the unlocked position to
allow the laser tool to self-level before checking
the accuracy.
90° Vertical Beam Accuracy

K
NOTE:
• You will need at least 1,5 m
assistant for this check.
• Place the laser tool on a level fl oor, and turn on all beams.
•
Measure exactly 0,91 m (3 ft) out from the center of
K

the laser tool along the front vertical laser beam. Mark
this point P
.
1
•
Measure exactly 1,22 m (4 ft) out the center of the
K
2
instrument along either of the 90° vertical reference
beams, and mark this point P
•
Measure from point A to point B; this distance D
K
3
should equal 1,52 m ± 0,3 mm (5 ft ± 1/64 in).
• If not, the tool must be returned to your Stanley
Distributor for calibration.
•
Repeat the above steps to check the other beams.

• Calculate the maximum offset distance and compare to the
difference of D
and D

• If the sum is not less than or equal to the calculated
maximum offset distance the tool must be returned to
your Stanley Distributor for calibration.
Maximum Offset Distance:
= 0,13 mm m x (D

• D
= 0,4 mm
3
• D
= - 0,6 mm
4
• 0,2 mm m x (10 m - (2 x 0,5 m) = 1,8 mm (maximum
offset distance)
• (0,4 mm) - (- 0,6 mm) = 1,0 mm
• 1,0 mm ≤ 1,8 mm (TRUE, tool is within calibration)
