Cleaning
Caution
Sterilize the extension cable only when necessary,
since sterilization accelerates normal product aging.
1. Unplug both the extension cable and the camera cable from the
console power cable.
2. Protect the connectors with the soaking caps. Place the caps over
the connectors and screw them on clockwise until secure.
Caution
Always install the soaking caps before rinsing the
extension cable. Failure to properly tighten the soaking
caps will corrode the connector pins and void the
warranty.
3. Rinse the extension cable in lukewarm tap water. Use a mild
enzymatic detergent and a soft brush to remove resistant debris
and bioburden from all surfaces.
4. Rinse off all soap residue with water.
5. Dry the extension cable thoroughly with a soft towel or gauze
surgical sponge.
6. Prepare the extension cable for disinfection by coiling the cable into
a loop about ten inches in diameter, avoiding any kinks or twists.
Disinfection
Caution
Inspect the extension cable before soaking, for cuts
and breaks. Replace if any cuts or breaks are found.
Caution
Separate the extension cable and camera cable prior to
disinfection. Always install the soaking caps prior to
disinfection, to protect the connector pins.
Caution
To minimize galvanic corrosion, avoid soaking
dissimilar metals in close proximity.
Caution
Avoid leaving the extension cable in sterilization
solutions longer than necessary, as this will accelerate
normal product aging. Extension cable life is extended
by the consistent use of a single sterilization method.
1. Clean and prepare the extension cable as recommended in the
Cleaning section. Ensure the soaking caps are installed.
2. Immerse the extension cable in Cidex Plus
