WARNING
Read the following instructions carefully before using the device.
• Federal law requires this device to be sold by a physician or by the
order of a physician.
• Caution should be used if prescribed for patients with diabetes,
vascular deficiency, and neuropathy:
– The skin should be checked regularly.
• Ensure patient performs circulation checks. If loss of circulation is
felt, or if the knee brace feels too tight, the patient should contact
their medical professional immediately.
• The device should not be applied on patients who are not able to
communicate discomfort.
• Before application, confirm all product components are included and
undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact your
local Össur Customer Service Representative. Contact information
can be found on the back of this document.
COMPONENTS (Figure 1):
1. Aerospacer softgood (sleeve or wrap; sleeve shown)
2. Patella opening
3. ROM Hinges (2)
4. Pull tabs (2)
5. Straps (5 on long version; 2 on short version; long shown)
6. Yellow Strap Tab
7. Trimmable patella buttress
8. Flex/Ext stops, screwdriver (1 bag, not shown)
INDICATIONS
Mild to moderate ACL and/or PCL, MCL and LCL instabilities, sprains
and strains
APPLICATION
Note! For best results:
a. When contouring hinge arms, remove hinges from softgood and
bend hinge arms as desired. Re-apply hinges to softgood before
application ensuring the hinge arms are completely seated within the
hinge pockets and the hinge condyle is secured to the softgood.
b. Adjust patella buttress as necessary before application. It can be
trimmed or removed as appropriate.
1. APPLICATION OF BRACE:
a. Sleeve version: Using the pull-tabs, pull softgood up over the knee so
that the patella opening is centered over the patella (Figure 2).
b. Wrap-around version: Open the softgood and place behind the knee
(Figure 3a). Wrap the softgood around the leg (lower portion first)
and fasten firmly with the contact closures (Figure 3b). The patella
opening should be centered over the patella.
2. FASTEN STRAPS
Unroll each strap and fasten in the order shown. The order is the same
for both sleeve and wrap-around versions (Figure 4):
a. Strap 1 & 2 Note: The yellow strap tab allows the strap tension behind
the leg to adjust to size when fitting.
