Retainer Retriever
Indications for Use: Used to assist in the
removal of thermoplastic orthodontic
retainers or aligners from the mouth.
Contraindications: none known.
Warnings: Use of excessive force
to remove retainer or aligner may cause
damage to it.
Precautions: none known.
Adverse Reactions: none known.
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Grasp the Retainer Retriever by the end
with the hole in it.
2. insert the hooked end of the Retainer
Retriever into the mouth.
3. Using the hook, gently grasp an edge of
the retainer or aligner near the front of the
mouth and pull away from the arch.
4. if resistance is felt, it may be necessary to
repeat step 3 in several locations along the
arch. Do not use excessive force to try and
remove the retainer or aligner.
