1. Remove tie down bracket – Using 17mm socket, remove (2) bolts from tie down bracket on passenger side, see Figure 2. Return tie down bracket to vehicle owner.
2. Remove weldnut covers – Using flat head screwdriver, remove (2) plastic caps from rearmost existing weldnuts on the driver side. Remove the rearmost rubber plug from the hole
between the two weldnuts that were exposed earlier on the driver side, see Figure 3.
3. Trim lower fascia (for model year after 2021) – Using flat head screwdriver, remove two tabs from sensor bracket behind lower fascia if sensor bracket is present, see Figure 5. Using
tape and marker, locate the centerline from the edge of bottom tab and mark a 3''x 3'' trimming area based on centerline, see Figure 4. Using hacksaw, trim the fascia area
highlighted and do not cut on sensor bracket.
4. Install hitch – Raise the hitch into position over existing weldnuts and install (2) M12 bolts ① and (2) conical washers ② into weldnuts, both sides. Note: *Bend exhaust heat shield
as necessary to keep from touching the hitch.
5. Tighten all M12 fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Ft.-Lb. (103 N*M).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for
connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
