3.3 Performing the inhalation
CAUTION
Before the patient starts inhaling, ensure that all parts are
firmly connected to each other. Otherwise, insufficient
dosage may be delivered.
CAUTION
Children younger than 18 months should inhale four to six
times; children older than 18 months should inhale deeply
two to four times. Otherwise, insufficient dosage may be
delivered.
For adults, one breath is enough to inhale the medication from
the VORTEX.
A useful tip for visually check-
ing breathing (e.g., with in-
fants): The valves must visibly
open when exhaling.
• Assume a posture in which the
upper body is upright (sitting or
lying with the upper body
raised).
• Connect the tracheal adapter
and the tracheal cannula.
