BEFORE USE
•
Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and
other elements in your workpiece; remove them before
you start working
•
Ensure that blade clamp A 2 is tight before making
a cut (a loose clamp may cause the tool or blade to slip
with loss of control as a result)
•
Only use the tool in daylight or with appropriate artificial
lighting
DURING USE
•
Do not get distracted and always concentrate on what
you are doing
•
Always ensure that the ventilation openings are kept
clear of debris
•
In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction,
immediately switch off the tool and disconnect the plug
AFTER USE
•
Before you put down the tool, switch off the motor and
ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill
•
Always disconnect plug from power source
- whenever leaving the tool unattended
- before clearing jammed material
- before checking, cleaning or working on the tool
- after striking a foreign object
- whenever the tool starts vibrating abnormally
•
Store the tool indoors in a dry and locked-up place, out
of reach of children

WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
•
Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug
•
If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of this
tool, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended
USE
•
Mounting saw blade 7
! disconnect the plug
- press blade clamp A in same direction as arrow C on
tool and hold it in that position
- insert blade (with teeth facing down) to full depth
- release blade clamp A
- push in and pull out blade to check whether it is locked
correctly
•
Removing saw blade 7
- press blade clamp A in same direction as arrow C on
tool and hold it in that position
- pull out blade
- release blade clamp A
•
Cord restraint 8
- hook the loop in the extension cord over restraint D as
illustrated
- pull tight to secure the extension cord
On/off 9
•
- switch on tool by first pressing safety switch E 2 and
then pulling trigger switch F 2
- switch off tool by releasing trigger switch F
•
Operating the tool
- connect plug to power source
- ensure power cord is located to the rear, away from the
saw blade and so positioned that it will not be caught
on branches or the like during cutting
- switch on the tool
! the tool should run at full speed before the blade
enters the workpiece
- always engage the moving saw blade into the
workpiece in a downward direction
- keep footplate G 2 firmly against the workpiece to
minimize counter-force and vibration
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-
coloured grip area(s) q
- do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the tool
do the work for you
- keep ventilation slots H 2 uncovered
! ensure that the saw blade extends beyond the
work throughout the stroke w
- support workpiece/logs so that the face sides at the cut
do not close in against each other, which would result
in the blade being jammed or pinched
- position and set short logs safely prior to sawing
! there is a risk of accidents when sawing wood or
branches under tension; be careful

- securely mount storage rail on the wall with 4 screws
(not supplied) and horizontally leveled

If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool undismantled together with proof of
purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL service
station (addresses as well as the service diagram of the

packaging together with household waste material
(only for EU countries)
- in observance of European Directive 2012/19/EC
on waste of electric and electronic equipment and
its implementation in accordance with national law,
electric tools that have reached the end of their life
must be collected separately and returned to an
environmentally compatible recycling facility
