11. MIC/INST switch
The MIC/INST switch is used to select the input of the TUBE100USB . When using a microphone, connect the microphone
to the MICROPHONE INPUT (XLR) and set the switch to the "MIC" position (switch is in the UP position). When using an
instrument (guitar, bass, etc .) or a line level device (keyboard, turn tables, drum machine, etc .), connect the instrument
/ device to the INSTRUMENT INPUT (JACK) and press the MIC/INST switch (switch is in the DOWN position).
12. Ø REV phase switch
For a variety of miking and mixing techniques, it may be necessary to invert the signal phase from the source you have
plugged into your TUBE100USB preamp . When the PHASE switch is pressed in, the input signal is inverted .
13. LOW CUT switch
This switch cuts low frequencies below the frequency set with the LOW CUT FREQ control at a rate of 12 dB per octave .
The LOW CUT filter can help reducing the possibility of feedback in live situations and to reducing stage rumble, mic
handling clunks, and breath pops .
14. VOCAL EQ switch
Switch used to activate the Vocal EQ circuit providing an equalizer preset to "enlighten" and "clear" the voice. This preset
lifts the mid-high frequencies by 3 dB at 5 kHz with 1 octave range.
15. LIMIT switch
Press the LIMIT switch to engage the limiter processor. A limiter is a processor that automatically allows signals below
an acceptable input level to pass unaffected while attenuating the peaks of stronger signals that exceed this acceptable
input level. Thus, using a limiter will help you to avoid unwanted peaks or overloads in the signal, which can sometime
cause undesired distortion. The threshold of the limiter is fixed at the nominal internal level of +4dBu.
16. USB indicator
Blue LED indicator that indicates when the preamp is properly connected to a PC .
17. ENHANCE switch
Due to the limiter action some high frequency contents should be lost. The ENHANCE function works by adding high
frequencies back to signal only when the limiter works. The result is a restoration of high frequencies even if the limiter
processor is active. Press the ENHANCE switch to engage this function.
18. REC MUTE switch
The mute switch allows you to mute the output signal of the TUBE100USB on both the analog (XLR / jack) and digital
(USB) outputs. This function can be helpful in some occasions, e. g. listening to playbacks.

19. MUTE indicator

The MUTE LED indicates whether the mute function is activated.
20. 18V~ socket
Here's where you plug in the TUBE100USB's external power supply . You should always connect your power supply to
the TUBE100USB before you plug the power supply into an electrical outlet .
21. HEADPHONES jack
6 .3 mm (1/4-inch) STEREO JACK connector for headphones output: only stereo headphones with a minimum impedance
of 32 Ohms should be connected to this output . T he stereo jack connectors are wired as follow:
Tip = positive LEFT channel signal
Ring = positive RIGHT channel signal
Sleeve = common negative shield or ground for both channels
22. USB PORT socket
It routes the output signal through the USB port in crystal-clean, 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo digital audio for high quality
recording with Windows and Macintosh computers . See above on this manual for more details .
23. OUTPUT xlr (balanced)
The XLR connector provides a balanced line-level signal . Connect it to the inputs of an audio recorder, processors
(equalizers, multi-band compressors and so on) or other audio system. The XLR output is wired as follows:
Pin 1 = shield or ground
Pin 2 = + positive or "hot"
Pin 3 = - negative or "cold"
24. OUTPUT jack (balanced)
The jack connector provides a balanced line-level signal . This output is hard wired with the previous XLR output .
The JACK output is wired as follows:
