Safety information

CAUTION! The grill surface and
the small pans will become very
hot during operation. This can
cause burns or fires! Grab the
small pans only by their heat-
insulated handles!
·
Never cover the grill surface with aluminium
foil. Do not place pots or pans on the grill sur-
face, since the heat accumulation can destroy
the non-stick surface. Never place baking paper
or flammable materials on the grill surface. The
heat from the grill can cause fires. Never set up
the grill in the vicinity of flammable liquids or
materials.
·
Make sure that the power cord never comes into
contact with hot surfaces.
·
Never set up the appliance in the vicinity of
other heat sources (stove, gas flame, etc.).
·
To prevent fires, make sure to choose a lar-
ge enough surface to set up the raclette grill.
·
The clearance to the top and the sides should
be at least 50 cm. Never place the appliance
against the wall. Never set up the appliance
in the vicinity of highly flammable objects,
such as furniture, curtains, etc. The grill emits
a great amount of heat. Therefore, do not
place any flammable objects or objects pro-
ne to melting in the vicinity of the appliance.
·
Keep the grill away from heat, direct sunlight,
moisture, and sharp edges. Never leave your grill
unattended during operation.
·
Please note that the appliance heats up very
quickly, it takes considerable time for it to cool down.
·
Do not transport the appliance until it has ful-
ly cooled off. The Teppan Yaki and the Natural
Stone plate rest on side metal brackets. They
become very hot during operation! Let the bra-
ckets cool down before touching or cleaning.
Important information
Your raclette grill (6425) is equipped with a
non-stick coating, which prevents food from
sticking and makes cleaning easier. Thanks to
the non-stick coating you will only need little or
8
no amounts of oil / grease to prepare your food.
·
The raclette grill with the natural stone plate
(6420) does not have non-stick coating. Howe-
ver, you will not have to grease the stone.
TIP: To prevent the meat from sticking to the
natural stone plate, simply pour a little salt on
the stone.
·
The continous temperature control on the ap-
pliance allows you to adjust the grilling tempe-
rature to the food being grilled or to keep food warm.
·
CAUTION: The stone plate is a natural product,
which may crack or break due to quick changes
of temperature. This can be avoided by hand-
ling as following before first usage:
1. Clean the stone as described under „Cleaning".
2. Dry the stone by rubbing with a towel thoroughly.
3. Coat the stone with a heat-resistant (food-) oil.
4. Put the stone into a cold oven and heat it to 220 ° C.
5. Leave the stone for 45 minutes in the oven.
6. Turn off the oven and let the stone cool
down slowly until it reaches room temperature.
DONT cool the stone with cold water!
Despite of this procedure, the stone may get
small cracks or color variations during later use.
This is no reason for rejection since the
function is not affected!
Operation
·
Place the grill on a dry, non-slip, and level surface.
Insert the plug into the wall socket.
·
The red control lamp will be illuminated.
·
Select a heat setting between 1 and 5 to adjust
the temperature for the food being grilled.
CAUTION! The appliance
is now becoming hot.
·
Pre-heat the raclette grill for a few minutes.
·
Place the food on the grill.
·
Choose the food you want to place in the small pans.
·
NOTE: Do not stack up the food inside the pans
too high. You can now either slide the small
pans below the grill plate to gratin the food or
place food on the grill plate.
·
NOTE: When placing food on the grill, beware
that hot grease of water may spurt from the grill
surface.
CAUTION! Do not turn the food
using grill utensils made of metal.
This will damage the non-stick
surface of your raclette grill with
Teppan Yaki plate!
Use only grill utensils made of
wood or heat-proof plastic!
Do not use aluminium grill trays
on the grill surface. The accumuting
heat is a source of danger!
