Ex SAFETY GUIDE (A)
This product meets both IECEx and ATEX directives, for products used in potentially explosive atmospheres are based on the European Committee
directive 94/9/EC. This Peltor products is tested and certified according to ATEX and IECEx directives by Notified Body ID 0470 (Nemko
Norway). Manufacturing process is certified according to the IECEx scheme and ATEX directives by Notified Body ID 0470 (Nemko Norway).
Declaration of conformity:
3M Peltor Tactical XP are in conformity with the IECEx scheme and a certificate is available for download from http;//www.iecex.com. Peltor
declares the ATEX certified products comply with essential requirements and other relevant provisions of directive 94/9/EC.

Safety Guide:
1. Make sure that specifications interfaces between this Peltor product and the radio transceiver have been compared according to EN 60079-14
(clause 12.2.5).
2. Only Peltor original approved accessories, like radio cables, are allowed to be used with this Peltor product
3. No connection to this product are allowed inside the potentially explosive atmosphere.
4. Service: use only Peltor authorised service
5. Read carefully the users guide before using this product
6. This product can only be used in temperatures -20
approved battery types (See below).
Ambient temperature rang is depending on the used cell type. (See below).
Only the following batteries (cell types) are approved for use with this equipment:
Philips Longlife, AA R6/Um3 1.5V, Mignon Zinc Carbon.
Energizer, AA LR6 1.5V, Alkaline-Manganese
The batteries shall not be replaced in an explosive atmosphere

Special regulations for safe usage
The Ex certificate (EC-Type Examination certificate: Nemko 10ATEX 1029X) contains restrictions about electronic data for connected equipment.
The IECEx certificate (available from www.iecex.com) contains specific information for use under the IECEx scheme.

Tactical XP Intrinsically Safe
Peltor Tactical XP has an audio input for connecting an external radio, and a level dependent function that amplifies soft sounds and dampens loud
noises. The external communication and level dependent functions are independent of each other. This product has been tested and approved
according to:to AS/NZS 1270:2002 and is certified to meet IEC 60079-11.2006.

Read these instructions carefully to ensure the best possible benefit from your new Peltor product.
FUNCTIONS
• Tactical XP is equipped with balance, equalizer, adjustable release time, adjustable volume for external input and external input mode.
• The latest settings are stored at shut-off, except high volume on external input
• Automatic shut-off after two hours of no active functions. Two warning signals are emitted every ten seconds for one minute after 1:59 hours
of use, to indicate that the unit will switch off.
• Low battery power is indicated with three warning signals ten hours before the headset will switch off. The interval between the warning
signals will then decrease as the power of the battery weakens.
