The installation time may vary depending on the condition and equipment of the vehicle.
When the line compensator is installed in the vehicle, it will only be possible to operate the mobile phone with
the ignition key turned to position 1 (terminal R) as the signal TEL EIN is simulated at the line compensator by ignition
lock position 1.
Target group
These installation instructions are intended for specialist personnel trained in BMW passenger cars and who
independently carry out all maintenance, repair, installation and readjustment jobs on passenger cars.
All jobs are to be carried out with the aid of valid BMW

– Maintenance manuals

– Diagnosis manuals
in rational order with the specified tools (special tools) and in compliance with valid health and safety regulations.
Installation notes
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems is required
The line compensator and mounting bracket for the line compensator are not included in the installation kit and,
after consulting the customer, must be ordered separately in accordance with the electronic parts catalogue (EPC).
The telephone console is dependent on the interior equipment and fittings and must be ordered separately in
accordance with the electronic parts catalogue (EPC).
Safety notes
These installation instructions apply only to LHD vehicles.
Particular care must be taken when installing cables/lines to ensure they are not kinked, bent or damaged.
Additionally installed cables/lines must be secured with cable ties.
It may be necessary to cut out the centre console for the cable leadthrough of the charger cradle with hands-free
facility to ensure the cable is not trapped.
