2.3 Installation of Interface Box and Charger Cradle with Hands-Free Facility

Refer to general information as well as safety notes in Section 1.
Preparation
Print out fault code memory.
Disconnect battery
Remove glovebox
Remove trim panel behind glovebox
Remove radio
Unclip heater control panel, unplug all connectors
Remove centre console
Open out fold-out page!

Release existing, tied-back, black 18-pin socket housing X4545B, white 6-pin socket housing X4546B and coaxial
pin housing Mini UHF (31) from telephone wiring harness (30) in front of the heater box.
Connect branch C4, black 18-pin pin housing, from adapter lead for telephone wiring harness C to existing
black 18-pin socket housing X4545B from telephone wiring harness (30).
Connect branch C5, white 6-pin pin housing, from adapter lead for telephone wiring harness C to existing
white 6-pin socket housing X4546B from telephone wiring harness (30).
Screw together branch F1, coaxial socket housing Mini UHF , from antenna adapter F with existing
coaxial pin housing Mini UHF (31) from telephone wiring harness.
Unplug plug connection C2+C3 from adapter lead for telephone wiring harness C.
Tie back branch C3, 1-pin pin contact with black housing, red/white wire, with cable strap (26) on adapter lead for
telephone wiring harness C.
Connect branch C2, 1-pin socket contact with black housing, red/white wire, from adapter lead for telephone
wiring harness C to branch D1, 1-pin pin contact with black housing, red/white wire, from auxiliary cable for
power supply D.
Route branches D2 and D3 from auxiliary cable for power supply D to black 15-pin socket housing from general
module plug connector X13252 behind glovebox and secure with cable straps (26).
Adhere anti-rattle pad (25) (see under Fig. J for mounting instructions) on the wiring harness such that it
encloses plug connections (C4+X4545B, C5+X4546B, C2+D1), threaded connection (F1+31) and tied-back
branch C3.
Branch F2, coaxial socket housing FME, from antenna adapter F and branch C1, black 18-pin socket housing,
from adapter lead for telephone wiring harness C must not be enclosed by anti-rattle pad (25).

Open the black 18-pin pin housing from branch B1 of adapter lead for interface box B.
Plug branch E3, 1-pin pin contact, yellow/red wire, into free plug-in slot PIN13 of opened branch B1, black 18-pin
pin housing, of adapter lead for interface box B and close branch B1 again.
Route branches E1 and E2 from auxiliary cable TEL EIN E to black 17-pin socket housing of radio connector X18126
and secure with cable straps (26).
Now connect branch B1, black 18-pin pin housing, from adapter lead for interface box B to branch C1, black 18-pin
socket housing from adapter lead for telephone wiring harness C.
Screw branch F2, coaxial socket housing FME, from antenna adapter F into branch A1, coaxial pin housing FME,
from connection cable for charger cradle with hands-free facility A.
Adhere anti-rattle pad (25) (see under Fig. J for mounting instructions) onto wiring harness such that only plug
connection B1+C1 is enclosed.
