9. Install the Side Panel or Strike Jamb
NOTE: The following steps are done from inside the shower. Place your drill, screwdriver, 9/64" drill bit,
screw bit, and #8 x 5/8" screws in the shower before beginning.
Make sure the side panel or strike jamb is still placed correctly in the expander jamb.
NOTE: If needed, readjust the side panel/strike jamb from the outside of the shower to ensure the gap
between the door and side panel/strike jamb is constant and the magnets line up. The gap will be
approximately 1/8" (3 mm) wide.
Drill one 9/64" hole in the second pre-drilled hole from the top of the remaining expander jamb.
The hole should only go through the inside wall of the frame.
NOTE: Make sure you can see the aluminum surface through the drilled hole or the panel/jamb will not
be properly secured.
Fasten the side panel/strike jamb to the expander jamb with one #8 x 5/8" screw through the
previously drilled second hole from the top in the expander jamb.
Once the side panel/strike jamb is aligned and the gap spacing is constant, drill the remaining four
holes and secure the side panel to the expander jamb using four additional #8 x 5/8" screws.
