Type 732E. The multi-cable riser switching module for Digit2Video systems type 732E enables the user to increase the number of moni-
tors in the Digit2video series, up to a maximum of 180 , distributed equally between 4 cable risers. Each cable riser can be connected to
maximum 45 monitors. The switching module type 732E also enables an increase in the maximum connection distance between the
entrance panel and furthest monitor in the system (see wiring diagram VC4483).

Operating principle. The led inside the switching module shows which cable riser is connected to the panel. When no calls are active, the
cable riser connected to the panel (led ON) is cable riser 1; the other 3 cable risers remain disconnected from the panel (leds OFF).
However, even during a call, activation of the door lock open command and auxiliary functions remain enabled for all monitors in the
system.
The table illustrates the status of the cable risers when no call is made:
Cable riser 1
Cable riser 2
Note: full dot = led ON = cable riser connected.
Each cable riser must be programmed indicating the INITIAL USER and FINAL USER.
The DEFAULT values are as follows:
Cable riser 1 Cable riser 2 Cable riser 3 Cable riser 4
Initial User
1
Final User
1000
The table illustrates a programming example:
Cable riser 1 Cable riser 2

Final User

When a call is sent to an interphone, the connection is activated between the relative cable riser and the entrance panel. The remaining
three cable risers remain disconnected from the panel.
The table provides a number of examples of calls from the entrance panel, after programming the switching module as described above:
No. Called
Cable riser 1
323
155
100
6521
Note: full dot = led ON = cable riser connected.
When the interphone is replaced, or when the conversation time has elapsed, the initial status is restored, in which only cable riser 1 is
connected to the panel and the other cable risers remain disconnected.
If the switching module receives a call from a number not within the programmed number range, it does not transfer the call and the led
corresponding to cable riser 1 flashes briefly.
Programming instructions. Switching module programming enables the definition of the users to associate to each cable riser. To pro-
gram the module, proceed as follows:
1. Press the PROGRAM key on the switching module.
2. Press SHIFT on the module and release the PROGRAM key. The led of cable riser 1 illuminates.
3. Press SHIFT several times to select the cable riser to be programmed. Once the riser has been selected, release the "SHIFT" push-
button and wait for a flashing of the LED as confirmation.
4. From an entrance panel with numerical keyboard, dial the "INITIAL USER" number and press C, and then, after a short flashing, dial
the "FINAL USER" number and press the "C" push-button.
From a single button panel, press the key corresponding to the number of the INITIAL USER and then, after the led flashes briefly, the
key corresponding to the FINAL USER.
5. Repeat this procedure to program the other cable risers.
To program the interphones in the system, physically detach the cable risers and any panels connected in parallel not involved in the pro-
gramming process.
