Intended Use
Vission shoulder immobilizer is intended to immobilize and contain the
upper limb, elbow, forearm flexed at 90 or 130°as required. Especially suited
to shoulder and pectoral girdle lesions.
The product is reversible and can be used either on the left or on the right
shoulder as required. This product is intended for one person use.
Indications
Shoulder, arm, elbow and pectoral girdle trauma (fractures, dislocations
and sprains). Shoulder and pectoral girdle surgery. Neurology: paralysis of
brachial-plexus.
Contraindications
No known.
Adjustment
This product should only be fitted and altered by a medical professional.
Warning
Do not pull the straps too tight as this can cause poor circulation and/or skin
irritation. Check the skin on a daily basis and if you have marks or chafing
that do not reduce within a short time (30 minutes) contact your clinician
immediately.
In order to ensure maximum efficiency of products it is essential to choose the correct size for the individual patient. In order to improve the quality of
our products, we reserve the right to change their specifications at any time. Vission Shoulder Immobilizer is reversible and can be worn on both the left
and right shoulder. The Velcro on the tabs are reversible and shall be adjusted to the side the orthosis shall be used, so that they can be attached to the
material of the orthosis.
A. Open up all Velcro straps and place the arm sling at the
injured side of the patient. Make sure that the forearm
holder flap (1) is in front of the patient and is facing down-
wards. The patient shall support the arm in a 90° flexion
position of the elbow. This position is naturally comfortable
for the patient.
B. Wrap the circular flap (2) round the patient and fasten it on
top of the chest flap (3) at the front of the patient. Make
sure that the arm sling is fitted firmly on the patient, without
any folds or wrinkles.
C. Tighten flap (4) by attaching it towards the forearm holder (1).
D. Fasten the forearm holder (1) at the required height.
E. Fasten flap (5) which holds the elbow.

G. To further stabilize the hand and forearm, use the extra

with the orthosis.

fold the brace as in the picture. The shoulder is unloaded

How to use the support
The shoulder immobilizer should be worn on cotton underwear or similar.
Do not use the product in direct contact with injured skin. Check that you
have the correct size. The support should hold your upper limb and shoulder
immobilized firmly. Follow the fitters'/medical professionals´ instructions for
use about duration of the treatment and personal hygiene.
Material specifications
Materials in the orthosis are; Polyester, Polyurethane, Nylon, Spandex. This
product does not contain Latex. This product is not flame retardant.
Wash instruction
Close all Velcro prior to laundering. Use a washing bag. Machine washable in
40°C (104°F) gentle cycle. Dry flat. Do not tumble dry or dry clean.
