INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Fits: 2012-14 Ford Focus 5 Dr. Hatchback
Kit Includes:
(1) T-Connector Harness
(1) 10 AMP ATC Fuse
(8) 6" Cable Ties
(1) Primary Lead Wire
(1) 15" Cable Tie
(1) 10/12 Ga. Butt Connector
(1) Fuse Holder
(1) Ground Screw
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2. Open the vehicle's rear hatch and remove all floor covers
and the foam trays around the spare tire. Remove the rear
threshold plate by removing the 4 plastic fasteners, 2 on each
side (Fig.1).
3. Pull back the felt liner to reveal a plastic wing nut holding
the vehicle's taillights in place (Fig. 2). Remove the plastic
wing nut and gently pull the tail light away from the vehicle
taking care not to damage the alignment tabs.
4. Locate the vehicle's factory wiring harness connectors
(Fig. 3). Separate the connectors, inspect for dirt and debris
and clean if necessary.
5. On both sides of the vehicle, remove the grommet (Fig.
4) and make a small slit in each to allow for the harness to fit
through taking care not to damage the existing factory wire
harness.
6. Begining on the left (driver's) side, place the T-Connector
ends containing the Yellow wire up behind the felt liner and
out through the grommet opening. Plug the connecrtors into
separated vehicle harness ends until they lock into place.
Carefully tug on the connectors to ensure the locking tabs are
engaged.
7. Locate a clean and accessible mounting location on the
vehicle near the T-Connector ends within reach of the White
wire and ring terminal. Remove any debris or undercoating to
expose a clean metal surface and drill a 3/32" hole.
Caution: Do not drill into any exposed surfaces or through
the vehicle body.
8. Attach the ring terminal on White wire using the ground
screw provided.
9. Route the T-Connector ends containing Red and Green
wires down to the bottom of side wall panel along the rear
of the vehicle and up behind the right (passenger) side panel.
Repeat Step 6 using the connectors with the Red & Green
wires.
10. Route the 4-flat connector through the left (driver's) side
trim panel into the storage compartment for storage.
11. Disconnect the vehicle's Negative(-) battery cable.
12. Beginning in the battery compartment at the front of the
vehicle, route the 12 Ga. black primary wire under passenger
side of vehicle along the brake lines to the T-Connector's black
box (Fig. 5) at the rear of the vehicle. Secure the wire to the
vehicle at each brake line holder using the cable ties provided.
Caution: When routing wire through metal or other sharp
surfaces, always utilize an existing grommet, provide a
grommet or insulate the wire from the hole with silicone
rubber.
13. Strip 5/16" of the insulation from each end of the inline
fuse holder provided and attach the 3/8" ring terminal on one
end using a crimping tool. Attach the other end of the fuse

holder to the 12 Ga. Black primary wire at the front of the
vehicle using the yellow butt connector provided.
14. With the fuse removed, attach the 3/8" ring terminal to the
vehicle's positive(+) battery terminal (Fig. 6).
Warning: Do not attempt to connect the black power wire
to the vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory wiring.
Failure to connect directly to the vehicle battery could
cause vehicledamage and/or trailer lighting failure.
15. At the rear of the vehicle, strip 5/16" of insulation from the
12 Ga. Black primary wire and connect it to the Red wire on the
T-Connector's black box using the butt connector provided.
16. Reattach the vehicle's Negative (–) battery wire.
17. Place the 10 Amp fuse into the fuse holder installed in
Step 13.
18. Confirm correct operation with a test light or by using a
trailer.
19. Secure all wires using cable ties provided. The
T-Connector's black box should be mounted on a clean flat
surface or cable tied to the vehicle frame.
20. Slide the grommets over the wires and return to their
original positions. Reinstall the tail lights and any other items
removed during installation.

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN
1. Lea las instrucciones a fondo antes de comenzar.
2. Abra el portón trasero del vehículo y retirar todas las
cubiertas para el suelo y las bandejas de espuma alrededor
de la rueda de repuesto. Retire la placa de umbral trasero
extrayendo los 4 sujetadores de plástico, 2 a cada lado (Fig. 1).

3. Tire hacia atrás el revestimiento de fieltro para revelar una
tuerca de mariposa de plástico que sostiene las luces traseras
del vehículo en su lugar (Fig. 2). Retire la tuerca de mariposa
de plástico y tire suavemente de la luz trasera, lejos del
vehículo con cuidado de no dañar las lengüetas de alineación.
4. Localice los conectores del arnés de cableado de fábrica
del vehículo (Fig. 3). Separe los conectores, verifique que la
suciedad y los escombros y limpiar si es necesario.
5. A ambos lados del vehículo, quite la arandela (Fig. 4) y
hacer un pequeño corte en cada una para permitir que el arnés
se ajusta a través de tomar cuidado de no dañar el cableado
eléctrico existente de la fábrica.
6. Comenzado el el lado izquierdo (del conductor), coloque
el T-puntas del conector que tiene el cable amarillo detrás del
revestimiento de fieltro y sale por la abertura ojal. Conecte los
connecrtors en arnés del vehículo separado termina hasta que
encajen en su lugar. Tire con cuidado en los conectores para
garantizar las lengüetas de fijación se dedican.
7. Localice un lugar limpio y accesible en el vehículo cerca
de la T-Connector termina al alcance del cable blanco y el
terminal de anillo. Retire cualquier residuo o capa inferior para
exponer una superficie metálica limpia y taladrar un agujero
de 3/32".
Precaución: No perfore ninguna superficie expuesta oa
través la carrocería del vehículo.
8. Conecte el terminal de anillo en el cable blanco usando el
tornillo de tierra provisto.
9. Pase el T-puntas del conector que contiene cables rojo y
verde hacia la parte inferior del panel de pared lateral a lo largo
de la parte trasera del vehículo y detrás del derecho (pasajero)
del panel lateral. Repita el paso 6 utilizando los conectores con
