Height Adjust Column Assembly Replacement
(also applies to Base, and Telescopic Cover Replacement)
1.
Adjust chair to maximum seat height.
2.
Turn chair upside down and set on stand or table.
3.
To remove base, tap firmly alternately on opposite arms
near hub with rubber or leather mallet.
4.
Slide plastic telescopic cover all the way down column.
5.
Remove height adjust column from chair control using
disassembly tool for taper fit joint or twisting & pulling
using pipe wrench.
6.
Remove telescopic cover from old column assembly and
install on new height adjust column assembly by pushing
it down from top of cylinder column to just past the taper.
7.
Install new height adjust column assembly by inserting
tapered cylinder end into chair control housing and
tapping firmly with rubber mallet.
8.
If the aluminum taper adapter remains on the old column,
tap it off gently and place in the base. If adapter remains
with base, proceed to step 9.
9.
Replace base assembly by inserting hub onto tapered
standpipe of height adjust column, then tap firmly with
rubber mallet.
10.
Turn chair right side up and seat taper
fit joints by sitting in chair.
Note: If base is being replaced, the aluminum taper
adaptor is no longer required and may be discarded
with the old base.
