Clear a paper jam
1 Turn off the ES-6000.
2 Try to pull the page out of the instrument.
3 If you cannot pull the page out, disconnect the cables from the ES-6000.
4 Insert a flat screwdriver in the slot at the center of the cover and turn it to open the cover.
5 Move the measuring head carriage all the way to the left by pushing the plastic housing of the motor. Touch only
the motor.
6 Turn the roller wheel until the page is free.
7 Close the cover, reconnect the cables, and turn on the ES-6000.
Clean the white calibration tile
Clean the white calibration tile once a year or when the software indicates that cleaning is needed.
1 Turn off the ES-6000.
2 Disconnect the cables from the ES-6000.
3 On the bottom of the ES-6000, press the latch of the white calibration tile holder and flip it out.
4 Using alcohol and a cotton swab or lint-free wipe, clean the white tile.
5 Replace the white calibration tile holder.
6 Reconnect the cables.
Clean the internal feeding mechanism
Clean the internal feeding mechanism as needed.

Do not clean any parts of the instrument other than the ones that are specified.
•
Do not use compressed air to blow dust out.
•
Do not get dust on the white calibration tile.
1 Turn off the ES-6000.
2 Disconnect the cables from the ES-6000.
3 Insert a flat screwdriver in the slot at the center of the cover and turn it to open the cover.
4 Move the measuring head carriage all the way to the left by pushing the plastic housing of the motor. Touch only
the motor.
5 As you manually turn the roller wheel, use water or alcohol and a lint-free wipe to clean the bottom media guide
assembly and the rubber rollers.
6 Close the cover and reconnect the cables.
