Prepare for transport
If you transport the ES-6000 over a long distance, prepare the instrument first.
1 Turn off the ES-6000.
2 Disconnect the cables from the ES-6000.
3 Set the transport guard by moving the switch on the bottom of the instrument to the locked position.
4 Insert a flat screwdriver in the slot at the center of the cover and turn it to open the cover.
5 Move the measuring head carriage all the way to the right by pushing the plastic housing of the motor, until the
lock engages. Touch only the motor.
6 Close the cover.
Safety
Follow safety guidelines to protect the ES-6000.
The ES-6000 is classified as a class 1 LED product in accordance with safety standard EN/IEC60825-1. To avoid any
risk of contact with the visible and invisible light from the LED, do not operate the instrument with the cover open
or the white calibration tile open.
The measuring head must never be modified or operated outside the instrument.
Do not use the instrument in environments where explosion hazard exists.
Do not use the instrument in environments with temperatures higher than 40°C or lower than 10°C.
Do not store the instrument in environments with temperatures higher than 70°C or lower than -20°C.
Protect the instrument from chemical agents, corrosive vapors, strong vibration and mechanical impact.
Use only the power supply supplied by the manufacturer. Use only accessories and spare parts supplied by the
manufacturer.
The instrument must always be shipped in such a way to avoid damage during transport, with the transport guard in
the active position and in the original packaging.

Service and warranty

The ES-6000 is warranted for one year from the date of shipment from EFI. For warranty service, please contact your
dealer or printer manufacturer.
For service after the 1-year warranty period or for re-certification of the instrument to ISO standards, contact X-Rite
directly.
Only a trained service engineer at a certified service center should perform service. The measuring lamp in the
instrument should only be replaced at a certified service center.
