General Information
Warning: These lights are best switched on in conjunction with the "low"
beam of the bike. Please be aware that auxiliary lights are not legal
in every country, or that there are country specifi c laws regarding the
operation, adjustment/aim and positioning of the lamps. Even though
the lamps are road legal and "E" approved in Germany/Europe , it may
not be so in your country. Please check the law regarding additional
lights in your country before installing/using these lights.
Things to look out for when routing/connecting the wiring harness:
•
Before starting the work, read the instructions below and look
at the images. You can also download these instructions in full
colour from our website: www.wunderlich.de/manuals
•
Disconnect the battery before working on the electrical system
of the bike. When disconnecting, always disconnect the nega-
tive (-) terminal fi rst, and when re-connecting always connect
the negative terminal last!
•
Route the harness along existing wires and cables (if possible),
and make sure the wires will not be pinched, chafed or burned.
Preparation
1. Remove the seat, the "Beak" mudguard, the side cover bolt and
the central tank cover. Carefully remove the plug from the utility
socket (Images B-G).
Lamp Installation:
2. First attach the main brackets to the side bike with the supplied
M5x30 bolts, washers and the 14 mm spacer (Image H). Then refi t
the "Beak", with the bracket between beak and fairing. Use the
M5x25 bolt and "large" washer at the front, and M5x20 bolts and
"large" washers at the rear (Image B).
3. Remove the original lamp bracket (Image P1), it is no longer needed.
Attach the bracket (J1) together with the upper and lower lamp
"cage" to the "Micro Flooter" lamp with the supplied M6x20 bolts,
washers and spacers. Ensure that the MicroFlooter lamp "TOP"
marking is indeed on top.
Metric Ruler for determining bolt sizes: When measuring bolts, only measure
the length of thread and shaft without the bolt head. For example, M5x12
means diameter of bolt is 5 mm, length 12 mm.

4. Now attach the lamp assembly to the main brackets using the
supplied M5x8 bolt, washer and special nut (Image I +J).
Tip: Only tighten the bolts fully after the installation is complete and
the position and aim are fi nalised (see point 13).
Harness + Routing
5. Attach the relay (Image K1) to the battery cover with a cable tie (L1).
Route the wiring harness towards the right lamp (K3 + L2), from
there route the wiring to the left lamp (K4). Route the light switch
wiring (K1) along the existing cables (L3) towards the clutch lever.
6. Attach the supplied light switch (K1) to the clutch lever bracket
using the supplied M5x30 (M 6x30) bolt, washer and black spacer
(Img. M). Note: The image shows the optional Wunderlich "Horn
Guard" which is also mounted on the same bolt.
7. Route the black wire from the switch (Image K5) along the existing
wires towards the head lamp. Carefully pull back/peel off some of
the insulation near the plug (Image N1). Connect the black wire to
the grey-blue wire coming from the head lamp using the supplied
connector (Image O + P). Note: Images O +P shows the installation
of the quick connectors to a different vehicle).
Alternative Connections:
The black wire can be connected to any positive (+) and switched
wire, but it is strongly recommended that it is connected to the
harness as described in point 7, as it ensures that the lights can
only be used when the iginition switch is on and the lights are
switched on as well.
Connection to accessory outlet (similar to image R):
If you have concerns about connecting to the wiring harness of Can
Bus equipped BMWs (because of warranty reasons for instance)
we offer the following suggestion: If your bike is equipped with an
accessory outlet, that outlet connects to the main wiring with a
plug. By sourcing the switched power from the accessory outlet
wire, you will not be actually connecting to the main harness and
therefore you'll avoid any potential warranty complications. If your
bike does not have an accessory outlet, please see your dealer
about purchasing a retrofi t kit. Note for "accessory outlet" Con-
nection": If the ignition is turned off while the Flooters are still on,
they will continue to burn for approximately one minute and then
shut off. It is recommended however to switch off the "Flooters"
before switching off the ignition.

Electrical connection
8. Slide a small piece of the thin shrink tubing over each MicroFlooter wire
and a piece of the larger shrink tubing over the main wiring (Image Q)
and connect the wires.
Note: Do not heat the shrink tubing at this stage yet.
9. Connect the red "plus" cable of the bike together with the red wire
from the relay to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and the brown
cable to the negative (-) terminal (Image L).
10. Turn on the ignition, check the function of all lights. If everything is
O.K., turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) terminal of
the battery.
Shrink tubing and finish
11. Heat the thin shrink tubes with a heat gun to neatly shrink them
over the connections. Then repeat the same with the large shrink
tube to neatly cover the whole connection (Image Q1-5).
Attention: Excessive heat or open fl ame could cause fi re/dam-
age to wiring or bike!!
12. Re-connect the brown cable and the main earth to the negative
(-) terminal. Secure all wiring with cable ties, ensure that no wires
are pinched and will not chafe.
13. Turn on the ignition, check the function of all lights and then adjust
the position (aim). Check and tighten all nuts and bolts. Reinstall
all parts that were removed during installation.
Double check your work before riding.
