F) Function 3 (monitoring of the program of a loudspeaker system)
1) Dial the designated phone number for the APS-18.3 (for the number ask the electrician); the connection between caller and APS-18.3
will be established.
2) If the connection is ready, the APS-18.3 reports with a 1 kHz-tone of 2 seconds length.
3) During 2 seconds the function selection by using one of the buttons 0 to 9, * or # can be made. These functions are individual (as shown
in the documentation of the loudspeaker-system) and can be used for example for activation of microphones. The APS-18.3 confirms a
selection immediately with a 1 kHz-tone of 2 seconds length.
4) If no selection has been set, the APS-18.3 sends a 400 Hz-tone from 2 seconds length and the selection of the program source occurs
automatically.
5) If the loudspeaker system is busy, a delay of a maximum of 10 seconds follows, accompanied from a 400 Hz-tone.
6) If the loudspeaker system is free, the program becomes audible.
7) The connection between caller and APS-18.3 will be interrupted if the caller hangs up, the maximum announcement duration pro-
grammed at the APS-18.3 is over or if a higher priority becomes active in the loudspeaker system. If the interruption is made by the
system, the busy tone is audible.
G) Function 4 (transfer of an information to a determined phone number)
1) The specific event (e.g. program, information) is active at the loudspeaker-system.
2) If the system is free, the APS-18.3 chooses the (by programming) determined phone-number (telephone
or APS-18.3 in another system).
3) The predetermined information (program, recorded text, gong-melody) will be transmitted.
4) The connection between called number and APS-18.3 will be interrupted if the maximum announcement duration programmed at the
APS-18.3 is over or if a higher priority becomes active in the loudspeaker system. If the interruption is made by the system, the busy
tone is audible.
H) Function 5 (playback of cached announcement via loudspeakers)
1) Dial the designated phone number for the APS-18.3 (for the number ask the electrician); the connection between caller and APS-18.3
will be established.
2) If the connection is ready, the APS-18.3 reports with a 1 kHz-tone of 2 seconds length.
3) During 5 seconds a function selection by using one of the buttons 0 to 9, * or # can be made. These functions are individual (as shown in
the documentation of the loudspeaker-system) and can be used for example for activation of loudspeaker zones. The APS-18.3 con-
firms a selection immediately with a 1 kHz-tone of 2 seconds length. This function will be cached.
4) If no selection has been set, the APS-18.3 sends a 400 Hz-tone from 2 seconds length and the selection of the function occurs automati-
cally. Then follows the "talk time" for the announcement. If the button # is used within the talk time, then the announcement will not be
played. Hang up the calling telephone after the talk time. The announcement is cached now and will be played when the system is free.
If the cache contains several announcements, they will be played in the order of the calls.
5) If allowed in the programming, within the talk time one of the buttons 1 to 3 can be used. This is for the activation of an additional function.
This function becomes active immediately and will not be cached. Whether this is possible and what is the function is also shown in the
documentation of the loudspeaker-system.
