In down position of the hold down assembly the contact damper presses down the open guitar
strings which prevents from the uncontrolled excitation of the open strings while playing.
For the convenient string replacement, the hold down assembly is made as easily removable.
Guitar name and name of a manufacturer are given on the bottom platform of the mechanism
and top plate of the hold down assembly.
For the convenient string replacement it is necessary to undo the fixing screw of the hold down
assembly towards the bottom platform (Fig.4,5 Pos.3) and separate (shift) the hold down
assembly from the platform. After string replacement, the hold down assembly should be
secured in the back order.
Hold down assembly and bottom platform can be disassembled by undoing three fixing screws
of the bottom platform towards headstock.
If open string mechanism "UNIVERSUM DPR" is not used while playing the guitar, the
MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDS in the upper limit position of the hold down assembly to
fully tighten the fixing screw of the revolving top plate to the bottom platform, which will
result in fixing the hold down assembly in the open position, at which the strings will be in a
free position. Tightening the fixing screw of the revolving top plate can be done using a slot
head screwdriver of truss rod adjustment key.
IMPORTANT: GUITAR MANUFACTURER DOES NOT APPROVE disassembling the open string
mute mechanism while playing the guitar (especially the bottom platform of the mechanism)
since these elements are the part of guitar decorative branding containing both guitar and
manufacturer's name.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE TOP NUT "UNIVERSUM ADG"

Electric guitar top nut is equipped with height adjustable screw string holders.
String height can be adjusted above the upper neck frets. When turning the screw string holder
clockwise, string height above the first frets will get less, when turning the screw string holder
anticlockwise, string height will get bigger.
IMPORTANT: precise adjustment of the screw string holders of the top nut is performed at
manufacture's works and it should not be changed without an appropriate experience.
GUITAR MANUFACTURER recommends that you should turn to the service center to carry out
this procedure.
