CAUTION: Do not let tensioner arm snap back to the
freearm position, severe damage may occur to the ten
sioner.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable from battery.
2. Raise vehicle.
3. Remove right front wheel.
4. Remove the inner splash shield.
5. Rotate belt tensioner (8) until it contacts its stop. Re
move the belt (7), then slowly rotate the tensioner into
the freearm position .
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Open the hood.
8. Partially drain the cooling system below the upper ra
diator hose.
9. Remove the engine cover.
10. Disconnect the fresh air makeup hose (4) from the air
cleaner body (1).
11. Remove the push pin (3).
12. Remove two bolts (2) from the air cleaner body (1).
13. Loosen the clamp (5) at the resonator and remove the
air cleaner body (1).
14. Disconnect the radiator fan electrical connector.
15. Remove the screws that secure the wiring harness
loom to the upper radiator core support.
16. Remove the upper radiator hose at radiator.
17. Remove the oil indicator tube to help aid in the fan as
sembly removal.
18. Remove the fasteners and upper clip attaching fan as
sembly to radiator .
19. Remove the radiator fan assembly (1) by lifting up
ward.
