FLEMISH WAFFLES

15 g fresh baker's yeast
•
50 cl milk
•
100 g sugar
•
250 g flour
•
4 eggs
•
125 g butter
•
2 pinches salt
•
Icing sugar
Mix the yeast in 10 cl warm milk.
Pour the flour into a bowl, make a well and pour in the yeast
mixture. Mix and let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Add the sugar and eggs, and then mix with a spatula.
Melt the butter with the remaining milk.
Cool and add this mixture to the dough a little at a time and mix
until the dough is smooth. Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 1
hour until the dough has doubled.
Select the mode
by turning the central button to the right.
Then, using the right button, set the temperature to 230°C.
Grease the plates lightly and pour enough dough onto the plates.
Spread the dough. Close the grill and press down on the handle.
Allow the waffles to brown, and then remove.
Sprinkle immediately with icing sugar and eat warm.
CHOCOLATE WAFFLES

75 g unsweetened powdered cocoa
•
1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
•
1⁄4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
•
1⁄4 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
•
25 cl semi-skinned milk
•
2 eggs
•
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
•
60 g melted butter
•
75 g chocolate finely grated
•
60 g walnuts or pecan nuts
Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon
in a bowl.
Add milk, egg and vanilla. Mix again to a smooth consistency.
Gradually blend in the melted butter.
Cover with a cloth and let rise for 1 hour.
Gently mix in the nuts and the grated chocolate.
Select the mode
by turning the central button to the right.
Then, using the right button, set the temperature to 230°C.
Grease the plates lightly and pour enough dough onto the plates.
Spread the dough slightly. Close the grill and press down on the
handle.
Allow the waffles to brown, and then remove.
Sprinkle immediately with icing sugar and eat warm.
