When assessing vibration exposure to determine safety
measures required by 2002/44/EC to protect persons
regularly using power tools in employment, an estimation of
vibration exposure should consider, the actual conditions of
use and the way the tool is used, including taking account of
all parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the
tool is switched off and when it is running idle in addition to
the trigger time.

Warning! To reduce the risk of injury, the user
must read the instruction manual.
Electrical safety
This tool is double insulated; therefore no earth
wire is required. Always check that the power
supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate.
Your screwdriver is not to be used with any type of plug
adaptor or extension.
Always insert the screwdriver into the mains socket in the
correct orientation, as shown in fig. D.

Residual risks
Additional residual risks may arise when using the tool which
may not be included in the enclosed safety warnings. These
risks can arise from misuse, prolonged use etc.
Even with the application of the relevant safety regulations
and the implementation of safety devices, certain residual
risks cannot be avoided. These include:
Injuries caused by touching any rotating/moving parts.
Injuries caused when changing any parts, blades or
accessories.
Injuries caused by prolonged use of a tool. When using
any tool for prolonged periods make sure you take
regular breaks.
Impairment of hearing.
Health hazards caused by breathing dust developed
when using your tool (example:- working with wood,
especially oak, beech and MDF).
Use
The tool is shipped in an uncharged state. Charge the
battery before first use for at least 20 hours.
Charging the screwdriver
Rotate the plug (5) until it locks in position (fig. B).
Insert the plug (5) into any standard 230 Vac electrical
outlet (fig. C).
When charging is complete, remove the plug (5) from
the socket, press the plug release button (4) and rotate
the plug (5) until it is flush with the screwdriver body
(fig. C).
Warning! Always make sure that the plug (5) is inserted and
removed in-line with the contacts in the electrical outlet.
Never try to twist or rotate the screwdriver while it is plugged
into the electrical outlet, fig D.
Warning! Always press the plug release button (4) when
folding the plug (5) flush with the screwdriver body. Failure
to do so may cause damage to your screwdriver and reduce
its useful life (fig. C).
Note: The tool will not operate when the plug (5) is in the
charging position. The plug must be flush with the housing in
order to operate.
The tool needs to be charged whenever it fails to produce
sufficient power on jobs that were easily done before.
The tool and the plug may become warm while charging; this
is normal and does not indicate a problem.
The tool can be left on charge indefinitely.
Charging indication (fig. G)
When the screwdriver is plugged into the mains supply, the
charging indicator (6) will be lit.
Fitting and removing a screwdriver bit (fig. E)
This tool uses screwdriver bits with a 1/4" (6.35 mm)
hexagonal shank.
To fit a bit, insert the bit shaft into the bit holder (1).
To remove a bit, pull the bit shaft out of the bit holder (1).
Switching on and off (fig. F)
The on/off and forward/reverse switch (3) determines the
direction of rotation of the tool and also serves as an on/off
switch.
Rotate the spindle lock collar (2) to the position
marked
.
To select forward rotation move the on/off and forward/
reverse switch (3) to the right, looking forward, the
forward arrow will be visible on the switch.
To select reverse direction, move the on/off and
forward/reverse switch (3) in the opposite direction, the
rear facing arrow will be visible.
