Service and Maintenance
The 64060625/30538111 intrinsically safe battery pack is designed to be very rugged and
reliable. If problems do occur, METTLER TOLEDO recommends that service be done only by
qualified, trained personnel. To assist in this repair, record as much information as possible about
what has happened including any error messages and physical responses of the terminal and/or
scale.
4.1.
Cleaning and Maintenance
When necessary, clean the 64060625/30538111 battery pack cover and battery charger with a
clean, soft cloth that has been dampened with a liquid that is safe for use in the hazardous area.
Do not use any type of industrial solvent such as toluene or isopropanol (IPA) that could damage
the finish. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the battery pack or charger.
Regular maintenance inspections by a qualified service technician are recommended. The
64060625/30538111 battery pack provides a rugged, stainless steel housing that is sealed to
IP66 standards. Care should be taken to avoid any physical damage or shocks to the battery pack.
Should the battery pack become damaged, ensure that steps are taken to prevent dust and moisture
from entering the unit until the battery pack can be repaired or replaced.

IS NOT DESIGNED FOR NOR INTENDED FOR USE WITHIN HAZARDOUS AREAS.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN OR REPAIR THE BATTERY PACK. THE BATTERY PACK IS NOT FIELD
SERVICEABLE OR REPAIRABLE. IN CASE OF FAILURE, RETURN TO FACTORY OR DISPOSE OF
PROPERLY.
Note that the 64050625/30538111 battery pack is shipped from the factory in a charged
condition. Depending on the charge condition of the battery pack, charge time to full capacity
could take a maximum of 11 hours.
Approximately every 30 seconds, the battery charger performs a temperature check of the
battery pack. During charging, if the temperature of the battery increases above 30˚ C (86˚ F),
the charger will shut off.
The charger will automatically turn itself off after approximately 11 hours if left plugged in.
