7 Description
7.1 Function
The Robotino is transformed into a driverless transport system with the electric gripper. Both MPS
workpieces and MPS cartons can be gripped.
The gripper has a magnetic proximity switch (7) with which the open end position is sensed. The roller lever
switches (2) detect parallel approach e.g. toward an MPS station.
It can be detected whether a workpiece is located in the gripper by using the light barrier (6) and the fiber-
optic unit (8).
As an optional extension to the transmitter (3) and the receiver (4), 1-bit communication can be enabled by
attaching a second optical transmitter and receiver (handshake, order number: 8125216) to the stations.
This allows the Robotino, for example, to communicate with an MPS station and query/forward the status of
the subsequent or pick-up station.
To do this, you must attach an optical transmitter to the next station and an optical receiver to the pick-up
station.
A fastening plate (order number 8029449) is necessary when using the gripper in the loading bay of the
Robotino. The gripper can be released from the gripper frame for usage.
