Using the FiO2 monitoring sensor
Use of the FiO
monitoring sensor may be recommended by your clinician.
2
Note: It may take up to 15 minutes for the FiO
powering on the device.
The FiO
sensor performance can be adversely affected by relative humidity, condensation on the sensor
2
or unknown gas mixtures.
FiO
monitoring is affected by changes in ambient and cyclical pressure. This change in monitoring is
2
proportional to the altitude at 3 000m (10 000 ft), the ambient pressure decreases by 30% relative to sea
level and will result in a 30% decrease in monitored FiO
For information on maintenance and disposal of the oxygen sensor, refer to the FiO
for Stellar.
FiO
sensor calibration
2
Note: Calibration must be done in room air without supplemental oxygen connection.
CAUTION
Do not use the FiO
2
Preparing to use a new sensor
1. Before use, leave the FiO
2. Attach a new FiO
2
3. Perform the sensor calibration (refer to Setup menu: Options (see page 19)).
Note: The FiO
monitoring sensor must be replaced every 12 months.
2
Connecting a sensor
1. Connect the air tubing to the T-piece adapter.
2. Connect the FiO
2
3. Connect the adapter to the air outlet of the device.
4. Connect one end of the cable to the FiO
5. Connect the other end of the cable to the rear of the device.
6. Start calibration (refer to Setup menu: Options (see page 19)). This should be repeated periodically at
the recommendation of your clinician.
