SAFETY REGULATIONS

SYMBOLS
The following symbols are displayed on the ma-
chine in order to remind you about the safety pre-
cautions and attention necessary when using the
machine.
The symbols mean:
Warning!
Always wear protective glasses.
Read the instruction book carefully be-
fore using the machine.
Make sure that there is nobody within
the working area of the machine.
GENERAL
• Read the instructions carefully. Familiarize
yourself with all the controls and learn how to
operate the machine properly.
• Never let children or persons unfamiliar with
these safety regulations use the machine.
• Do not use the machine while under the influ-
ence of alcohol, drugs or medicines, nor when
you are tired or sick.
• Do not use the machine for any job except that
for which it is intended.
PREPARATIONS
• Never cut if other people, particularly children,
or animals are in the vicinity.
• Use thick shoes and long trousers when cutting.
• Do not operate the machine in bare feet or when
wearing sandals.
• Never remove or in any way alter the guard over
the trimming line.
• Always use a trimming line intended for the
machine.
• Check the area to be cut thoroughly and remove

any stones, pins, steel wire or other objects.
OPERATION
• Keep the hands and feet clear of the trimming
line when the machine is running.
• Do not force the machine. Use at a rate at which
it is able to cut effectively.
• Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Cut only in daylight or when there is good illu-
mination.
• Do not use the trimmer when it is raining or
when the grass is wet.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• When not in use, the machine should be kept in-
doors in a cool, dry place and out of reach of
children.
• Do not use any other charging unit than that
supplied with the machine.
• Always charge the machine in an upright posi-
tion.
• For the sake of safety, replace any worn or dam-
aged parts.
ASSEMBLY
CARRYING HANDLE/HARNESS
Screw the carrying handle (A) firmly into the ma-
chine. Adjust the handle to ensure a comfortable
working position.
Hook the harness (B) into the hole (fig. 1).
SAFETY GUARD
Press the guard (C) up onto the motor unit. Then
turn it anti-clockwise until it clicks into place.
The guard has a sharp blade. Use gloves
to avoid cutting injuries.
BATTERY
Mount the battery (D) by sliding it up into the
tracks until it clicks into place.
To remove the battery, press in the safety catch.
Then allow the battery to slide out from the tracks.
Spare batteries are available as accessories from
your distributor.
