6. The best trimming results are obtained by
swinging the machine in an arc from right to
left.
7. If the grass is tall, it is better to trim it in several
stages.
8. The operational life of the trimming line will be
considerably shortened by trimming close up
against house foundations, brick walls, etc.
Avoid this by using the extendible fender (J) to
set the right distance (fig. 6).
9. Do not force the motor unnecessarily when the
battery power begins to fall off as this will
shorten the battery life.
FEEDING TRIMMING LINE
Every time the machine is started/stopped, a small
part of trimming line is fed out automatically. The
blade in the safety cover, cuts this line off to the
right length.
REPLACING TRIMMER LINE
1. Press in both the snap locks on the spool cover
(K) (fig. 7).
2. Remove the spool cover (fig. 8).
3. Take the empty spool (L) out of the spool holder
(fig. 9). Roll a new trimming line clockwise
onto the spool (fig. 10). Only use genuine trim-
ming line with a diameter of 1.4 mm.
4. Insert the end of the trimming line through the
hole in the spool holder (fig. 11).
5. Place the spool in the spool holder (fig. 12).
Then click the spool cover into place.
Take care not to injure yourself on the
blade in the safety guard.
MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the spool, spool holder, safety guard and
trimming blade free from grass and other mate-
rials which can stick on.
2. Each time after use, the space between the spool
holder and the safety guard should be inspected.
Remove any grass which may have become
wrapped around the motor shaft.
3. The motor's air intake (M) must be checked and
cleaned at regular intervals (fig. 6). The ma-
chine must not be rinsed with water.
