C. INSTALLATION.
To avoid electrical shock, do not attempt to install wires when power is on.
1. Electrical Connections.
Use 2 x 12-18 AWG wiring for these speaker models.
a. AMR6-2570.
See figure 1. The model AMR6-2570 is factory configured for 70 Vrms operation. If 25
Vrms operation is desired, remove the green wire that is connected to the 70V terminal and connect
it to the terminal marked 25V.
Strip 1/4" of insulation from the end of both audio field leads. Connect the audio positive
(+) lead to the desired wattage terminal. Connect the audio common (-) lead to the appropriate
speaker common terminal, COM for 8W, 2W, & 1W operation or COM for 5W operation (see figure
1).
Connection to the wrong common terminal can cause permanent product damage. Care-
fully review figure 1 to ensure the proper common is being utilized.
b. AMR6-100.
Strip 1/4"of insulation from all wiring leads. Attach the appropriate wires to the cor-
responding terminals on the back of the speaker as shown in figure 2. The positive or "+" terminal is
marked with a red screw head. Tighten the screws to ensure that the wires are firmly held in place.
See figure 2. Multiple power settings are achieved via selection of transformer tabs. The
unit is set at the factory to the 8-watt position. To adjust the power (volume), remove the receptacle/
wire assembly for power setting and place it on the transformer tab corresponding to the desired
power. Ensure that the receptacle is fully seated on the tab.
2. Mounting (see figure 3).
Both loudspeaker models are mounted using the R6BB back box and R6TB support bridge.
These loudspeakers can easily be mounted to any surface thickness between 1/4" and 1-1/2" due to
the unique adjustable "L" shaped clamps (see figure 3). Mounting of this product using the Model
R6BB back box and Model R6TB support bridge into a ceiling tile is accomplished as follows:
a. Remove the ceiling tile and cut a hole using the enclosed template or using the Model
R6TB support bridge as a template.
b. Bend up the four horseshoe tabs on the bridge (see figure 3).
c. Replace the tile and push back an adjacent tile.
d. Position the support bridge through the adjacent tile opening and secure it over the tile
just cut.
e. Place the back box onto the support bridge ensuring that the four tabs in the bridge
locate into the corresponding slots on the back box (see figure 3).
f. Using pliers, turn the top section of the four tabs 1/8 turn in either direction to secure the
back box to the support bridge.
g. Install the wiring into the back box ensuring that all applicable codes are met.
