Before the first start-up:
So that nothing stands in the way of a long and above all safe handling of your grill, it must first be
„burned out".
The background to this process is that, despite the use of a high-quality paint finish on the plancha, an
initial burnout is strongly recommended for health reasons. Any varnish residues and oils/greases that
may be present are removed in this way. In addition, this method leads to the fact that the varnish layer
takes up a better connection with the steel and promises thus a longer weather protection.
When starting the grill, please open the valve of the gas bottle first. Make sure that no gas escapes
from the connection of the bottle or the connection valve on the grill.
Then set the control to the highest flame („3 o'clock position" - aligned to the piezo ignition button).
Now press and hold the control down. You will hear gas flow into the ring. While continuing to hold
down the control, immediately activate the piezo igniter. The BigQube ignites. To bypass the ignition
safety device, please continue to hold down the control for approx. 10 seconds. Now remove your
hand from the control. The flame no longer extinguishes and continues to burn independently.
As soon as the flame burns independently, please rub the grill plate / plancha with olive oil. Olive oil
causes the plate to darken quickly and protects it from corrosion. For the later we recommend high-
quality vegetable oils, since these are more heat-resistant (e.g. sunflower or rapeseed oil).
SAFETY AND WARNING NOTICE 1:
All parts of the grill tub become hot during the grilling process. To avoid burning, make sure that
these parts do not come into contact with skin surfaces.
Keep children away from the tray!
The BigQube is only to be operated outdoors and cooling down after grilling can take several
hours, depending on the weather, during which there is still a risk of burning on the hot surfaces.
Make sure that the BigQube is placed on a leveled surface so that it cannot tip over and oil /
grease cannot drip in your direction!
