INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE
PRECAUTIONS
All PestWest® traps are fully insulated, class 1 appliances, nevertheless, sensible precautions should be observed:
• Switch off the machine before servicing or cleaning.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• The Quantum® X LED lamps produce ultraviolet light in the UV-A region at
370nm wavelength, which can be harmful to the skin and eyes, avoid prolonged
exposure at close proximity.
• Do not install where dangerous concentrations of flammable gases or dusts are
likely to occur.
• Ensure the unit is properly earthed.
• The Chameleon Qualis can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the Chameleon® Qualis in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
• Ensure that operators have adequate and secure working platform, when
working on the machines.
• Do not allow the sticky board to become over-filled with dead insects. Change
at regular intervals as required by the catch or at least every 6-8 weeks. Ensure
PestWest® sticky boards are fitted as replacement.
• The Chameleon® Qualis is designed for indoor use only.
• Not suitable for use in barns, stables and similar locations.
• To maintain the attractive appearance of the units, wipe down and clean as often
as required. Use a cloth dampened with water and detergent or a proprietary
cleaner. Do not use scouring pads or abrasives.
