TRIAL RUN (unloaded)
Before you melt, we recommend that you test the machine in operation .The following steps
should be followed.
1) Put the stainless steel ring (Ø 30) into the small cradle.
2) Use the fork to position the cradle + ring assembly on the arm.
3) Place the silica crucible with the vitrified carbon sheath on the crucible tray.
4) Turn the switch to « ON » (Marche)
5) Centre the arm (a signal sounds when it is correctly positioned)
6) Press the SELF button
7) Press the FUSION button
8) Set the power variation dial to 8.
9) Let the crucible temperature rise for 1 minute.
10) Close the cover.
11) Press the INJECT button.
12) Let the machine run for 10 to 20 seconds.
13) Press the STOP button.
14) Wait15 seconds (safety margin following rotation).
15) Open the cover.
INDUCTION GENERATOR
Induction heating is based on an entirely different principle from resistance heating.
The inductor generates a high-frequency magnetic field which acts directly on the metals to be
melted.
The current passing through the metal charge heats and finally melts it.
The generator is set at the right operation frequency to mix the molten metals thoroughly.
Electromagnetic mixing renders a homogeneous alloy and prevents any of the surface
overheating characteristic of conventional generators.
The Ducatron Serie 3 generator is equipped with the most advanced semiconductor power gates
(Power –MOS).
It has a particularly high efficiency, equivalent to 90% of absorbed power.
It consists of two different parts.
