3.3 Connecting the Printer to a METTLER TOLEDO Weighing Terminal

3.3.1 Connecting the Printer via RS232 Connection

1 Connect the printer to power supply and switch it on using the power button.
2 If the printer is protected by password, select the correct use and enter password according to [Accessing
Management and Entering Password   Page 12].
3 If Auto Connection (factory default) is enabled, the LCD shows Data Transmit.
4 Use the RS232 cable to connect the printer to a METTLER TOLEDO weighing terminal.
5 Press the Print key of the weighing terminal, then the weighing terminal sends printing data to the printer for
baud rate matching.
6 When matching is successful, the LCD shows the
matching result and "Press √". Press
prints out the matching result.
7 When matching is unsuccessful, the LCD shows the
matching result and "Data 8 Bits". In this case, set
Auto Connection (see [Menu Mode Structure 
 Page 13]) off, and then configure the RS232
communication settings of both the printer and the
weighing terminal manually.
Note: Once the above settings are done, these settings will
not be erased even if the printer is switched off.

3.3.2 Connecting the Printer via USB Connection

If the weighing terminal supports USB print, perform the following steps to connect the printer and the weighing
terminal.
1 Connect the printer to power supply and switch it on using the power button.
2 If the printer is protected by password, select the correct use and enter password according to [Accessing
Management and Entering Password   Page 12].
3 If Auto Connection (factory default) is enabled, the LCD shows Data Transmit.
4 Press
to close the message.
5 Use the USB cable to connect the printer to a METTLER TOLEDO weighing terminal.

3.3.3 Connecting the Printer via Ethernet Connection

1 Connect the printer to power supply and switch it on using the power button.
2 If the printer is protected by password, select the correct use and enter password according to [Accessing
Management and Entering Password   Page 12].
3 If Auto Connection (factory default) is enabled, the LCD shows Data Transmit.
4 Press
to close the message.

We recommend connecting the printer to only one weighing terminal at a time. If
several weighing terminal are connected to the printer at the same time METTLER
TOLEDO cannot assume the correct functionality of the printer.

To achieve optimum performance of the printer, it is highly recommended to
use connection cables supplied by METTLER TOLEDO.
