Maintenance
Explosion hazard. Failure to comply may cause severe or even fatal
injuries.
All work, e.g. transportation, storage, installation, connection,
commissioning, servicing and maintenance must be performed in a
non-explosive atmosphere.
Scheduled maintenance
The stainless steel pumping rollers run on sealed bearings and do not require lubrication.
l
If fluid is spilled inside the pumphead, flush the pumphead out with water and mild detergent as
l
soon as possible. If specific cleaning agents are required to clean the spillage, please consult Watson-
Marlow Technical Support Office before proceeding, in order to confirm chemical compatibility.
All pumpheads should be inspected weekly for any damage, and to ensure no debris is present
l
inside the pumphead or pumphead guard latch mechanism.
Because of the importance of dissipating any electrostatic charge the earthing lead should be
l
regularly checked for signs of corrosion.
If the rotor needs to be removed, refer to the guidelines below.
l
Rotor removal
Open the pumphead guard using a 5mm Allen key
l
Remove the rotor cap
l
Unscrew the rotor screw using a 5mm Allen key
l
Pull the rotor off the keyed shaft, remove the key and clean thoroughly. Do not use tools to lever the
l
rear face of the rotor away from the inner face of the track; it should come off by hand.
