For convenience and safety's sake, this appliance has an automatic ignition system powered by the
two batteries that you have already installed.
CAUTION: If you are using this appliance for the very first time, you must wait two hours after
installing the tank to ignite it because the wick must be impregnated with fuel.
We recommend that you carry out initial ignition outside because the materials used for
manufacturing the appliance may be covered with a greasy film, which has to burn off.
Remember that if you purchased this equipment during the off-season period, or if the weather is not
cold, but you want to try it even so, you may have some difficulties.
A temperature-sensitive safety device is connected to the wick mechanism, so if the initial
temperature of the location in which you want to use is around 25 , it is not unusual for this process
to fail.
Wait until the weather conditions are suitable.
1. Turn the wick positioning knob (7 on figure A) clockwise until it is in the high position.
2. Push the start button (6 in figure A) so that the igniter comes into contact with the wick.
3. As soon as the wick is ignited, release the button, which will lower the combustion chamber.
4. Move the spring in the lower part of the burner (see figure B) so that it is correctly placed.
5. Check the flame after 5 to 7 minutes of operation. It must be consistent and red on the entire
perimeter of the burner (see figure I). If it is not, move the spring in the bottom part of the burner
slightly (see figure B).
