1) Activity-related Energy Expenditure (AEE)
Shows the total number of calories burned through the physical activity for the day between
midnight and the current time. Physical activity means all activities that burn more calories
that when seated (when resting).
2) METs
This unit is used to show the intensity of physical activity. 1 MET is taken as the intensity of
physical activity in the seated, relaxed state; other activities are measured as a multiple of this
value. Regular walking is measured as approximately 3 METS. This means that walking is
approximately 3 times more intense than sitting down.
* This value is calculated from the intensity of physical activity for the previous 1 minute.

Shows the amount of activity for the day from midnight until the present time as a graph. (See
P. 23 for details)
