Before using for the first time
∙ Remove any packaging materials and stickers from the
appliance.
∙ C lean the grill rack, reflector tray and wind-guard with
warm soapy water; wipe thoroughly dry afterwards.
∙ Assemble the appliance as described in Preparing the
unit.
∙ Let the grill heat up for approximately 10 minutes at
maximum power without any food (see Grilling). This
will remove the smell typically encountered when first
switching on a grill. A little smoke may be emitted; for
that reason, adequate ventilation should be ensured by
opening windows or balcony doors; an extractor hood is
also suitable.
Base stand assembly
∙ For grill models with base stand, assemble the stand as
shown in the diagram:
∙ Turn the empty grill housing upside down and insert
the four support legs into the grill housing one after
the other in turn, so that the recesses in the end of the
support legs are engaged on the bottom screws on the
grill housing. Screw the support leg into place with one
of the screws provided.
∙ Turn the grill housing over.
∙ Hook the storage tray into the holes in the support legs
and tighten it with the thumb screws provided.
∙ Ensure that the stand is stable.
∙ Assemble the grill as described under Grill assembly.
Grill assembly
∙ Assemble the grill as shown in the diagrams:
∙ Place the reflector tray into the grill housing.
∙ Fit the heating element with junction box into the
reflector tray. The appliance is equipped with a safety
switch. The unit can be operated only with the junction
box properly installed.
∙ Fit the grill rack so that the studs on the rack fit into the
corresponding openings in the reflector tray.
∙ Fit the wind-guard elements first at the rear into the
recesses on the grill rack, and then secure them on
the grill rack frame.
Preparing the unit
∙ Assemble the appliance as described in Grill assembly.
For grill models with base stand, refer to Base stand
assembly.
∙ F ill the reflector tray with water to the Max marking (max
900 ml). Do not pour water on the heating element.

During grilling, the water in the reflector tray should be
replenished in good time. Caution: Always disconnect
the appliance from the mains before re-filling.

between min und max. The light ring shows steady red.
∙ Let the appliance heat up for around 10 minutes, and
then place the food on the grill surface.
After grilling
∙ Always disconnect the unit from the mains and allow it to

Cleaning and care
∙ Ensure that the grill is thoroughly cleaned after use.
∙ Before cleaning the grill, ensure it is disconnected from
the power supply and has completely cooled down.
∙ Do not use metallic pads or abrasive cleaning agents.
∙ Remove the wind-guard and grill rack and clean them
in a dish-washer or with warm soapy water. To remove
persistent food residues, they can be left soaking for a
while.
∙ Remove the heating element with the junction box. To
avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the heating
element with water and do not immerse it in water. The
heating element with junction box may be wiped with a
slightly damp lint-free cloth.
∙ T ake off the reflector tray and clean it in a dish-washer
or with warm soapy water. To remove persistent food
residues, it can be left soaking for a while.
∙ All other parts can be cleaned with a cloth soaked
in soapy water, and should be wiped completely dry
afterwards.
Hint!
To help clean the wind-guard, grill rack and reflector tray,
baking powder may be used. Mix a paste from water and
baking powder, rub the paste onto the affected areas
and let it take effect for a while. Clean with a soft brush/
sponge and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
