Disassembly:
Disconnect the motor (7), loosen and remove screws (26) and suction cover (2). Remove the O-ring
(12). Loosen and remove the locknut (27) and nut (9) fastening the shaft (5) with a spanner through the
flange-hatch side opening (1) or by tapping with the spanner. Remove the impeller (4) and key (11).
Remove the cooling connections (3) screwed to the seal cover (10).
Loosen and remove nuts (22) and remove threaded rods (23) of the cover through the side opening so
that it is free. Through the same opening loosen and remove the screws (25) that join V motor to the
body-flange, and remove it together with the back fixed part of the mechanical seal (8). The turning part
of the seal will be visible so that it can be removed once the three Allen screws that fasten it to the shaft
are loosened. Only be back fixed part of the seal remains, which is removed together with the cover that
houses it and can be manually removed from its housing. Check the condition of the shaft (5) to see if
it has any notches or wear, in which case it is recommended to change it.
Assembly:
For assembly, follow the instructions in reverse. Assemble the stationary part of the mechanical seal at
pressure (8) on the housing of the body-flange (10) and the seal cover (10). Fit the cover and the turning
part placing a little neutral grease or water on the shaft (5) to help it go in. Assemble the body-flange
and fix it to the flange of the motor with the corresponding screws (25). Tighten the three Allen screws
that that fix the turning part of the shaft ensuring that it is flush with the back stationary part. Screw the
threaded rods (23) again that join and centre the cover with the body-flange until it is flush and fix them
with the respective nuts (22), checking that the O-ring (14) is in good condition and correctly fitted. Refit
the cooling connections (3).
4.1.3 Change the shaft
The shaft on the monoblock pumps is a detachable shaft that is fixed on top of the shaft of the motor
with a setscrew with a locknut. A hard strike, a foreign body to structure the pump or continued use of
the pump may mean it is necessary to change it.
Disassembly:
Proceed in the same manner as for disassembling the mechanical seal. Remove the body-flange (1) so
that the shaft is completely exposed to be handled. Remove the splash protection (21), and loosen and
remove the setscrew (15). Remove the shaft (5) using an extractor if necessary.
Assembly:
To assemble it proceed in reverse taking into account that the pump's shaft (5) must be inserted to the
buffer of the motor's shaft (7) and that the threaded hole position must match the hole of the motor's
shaft. When assembling the shaft is recommended to use oil to prevent possible seizures. Screw the
setscrew (15) and ensure it is fitted with the locknut.
It is advisable to inspect the condition of all of the above-mentioned parts, every 2,500 h of
process or every six months (the lesser of the two) with the aim of maintaining the use of
the pump within safety parameters.
For the mechanical seal and the motor is recommended to follow the premises established
by the original manufacturers.
Except where the inspection and maintenance plans established by the user do not
determine different intervals.
The pump must never be turned dry!
4.2 Guarantee
All Bominox pumps are guaranteed for one year from the delivery date on manufacturing defects, as
long as they are used following the recommendations of the service instructions and pursuant to the
specifications indicated in the conditions of sale, and do not have wear as a result of service in severe
conditions (e.g. extremely corrosive or abrasive).
The guarantee shall be void if there are modifications to the pump that are not expressly authorised by
Bominox, the parts used are not original, all the pumps have been used incorrectly or exposed to strong
pressure.
