Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in
accordance with instructions, certain residual
risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards
may arise in connection with the equipment's
construction and layout:
1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask
is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is
used.
3. Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if
the equipment is used over a prolonged period or
is not properly guided and maintained.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Changing the saw blade (Fig. 2)
Always switch off and unplug the multi-saw before
working on the machine or changing the saw blade.
Press the lever for changing the saw blade (6) as
shown in Figure 2 until the saw blade (4) lets itself be
slipped into the slot of the blade holder (a). Then
release the lever for changing the saw blade (6). The
lever will return to its starting position and lock the
saw blade in place (4). Pull on the blade (4) to check
whether it sits tightly in the holder (a). To remove the
saw blade (4), proceed in reverse order.
5.2 Adjusting the soleplate (Fig. 3)
Important.
Pull out the power plug.
To adjust the soleplate (5), loosen the locking lever
for the soleplate (8) until the soleplate (5) can be
moved. Set the required distance and refasten the
lever (8).
Check that the soleplate is secure.

6. Operation

6.1 ON/OFF switch (Fig. 1/Item 1)
To switch on:
Press the ON/OFF switch
To switch off:
Release the ON/OFF switch
6.2 Locking button (Fig. 1/Item 2)
You can lock the ON/OFF switch (1) using the locking
button (2) when the equipment is in operation. To
switch off the equipment briefly hold down the
ON/OFF switch (1).
6.3 Function switch (Fig. 4-6/Item 7)
Important. Activate the function switch (7) only
when the equipment is at a standstill.
You can move the soleplate (5) to 4 different settings
to work better in hard-to-reach areas.
To move the soleplate (5), set the function switch (7)
to position A (see Figure 4).
To lock the soleplate (5) in place, set the function
switch (7) to position B (see Figure 5). The soleplate
(5) can be locked in only four positions (at 90°, 180°,
270° and 360°). Now check that the soleplate (5) is
secure by turning it.
The pendulum action is activated in position C (see
Figure 6). The saw balde will then move forwards and
backwards in addition to its up and down movements.
This will improve the sawing performance through
better chip discharge. In this position the soleplate (5)
is always locked.
Important. To switch the function switch (7) to
position C, the soleplate (5) must be set to 180° or
360°.
6.4 Use as a jigsaw (Fig. 7)
Place the multi-saw on the material to be cut as
shown in Fig. 7. Switch on the multi-saw and push it
along against the material to be cut. Adapt your
cutting speed to the material.
