14. The wire ends of the blue and grey wires need to be properly insulated (are not needed).
15. For vehicles with ILM low:
16. Use the ring eyelet to attach the brown wire to the vehicle's earthing point (Fig. 1/7) near the
device holder.
17. Cut the ring eyelet from the grey wire and insulate the wire end properly (is not needed).
18. The vehicle's wire for the fog lamp has to be cut near the left tail light. Connect the vehicle's
wire from the rear fog light switch to the blue lead from the retrofitted wire set and connect the
vehicle's wire to the rear fog light to the grey lead of the wire lane using the enclosed cutter
connectors.
19. Route the cable set along the vehicle cable looms /cable ducts on the driver's side up to the
ILM control unit (Fig. 1/3) in the driver side footwell.
20. Disconnect the grey 32-pin plug from the ILM control unit (Fig. 1/3) and open the purple
catch. Release the following wire and insert into the black 3-pin socket housing on the cable
set:
Orange/brown wire from chamber 12 into chamber 1.

Orange/green wire from chamber 13 into chamber 3.
-
21. Insert the orange/green and orange/brown wires from the cable set according to colour into
the freed chambers 12 and 13 of the 32-pin plug.
22. Make sure that no more than 30 mm of the orange/brown and orange/green wires are
untwisted.
23. Close catches and reconnect plug to the ILM control unit (Fig. 1/3).
24. Plug the open 3-pin housings together.
25. Route the single black/red cable to the brake light switch. Pull off the 4-pin housing on the
vehicle and open the secondary lock. Release the red/black cable from chamber 4 and insert
into the 1-pin socket housing on the cable set.
26. Insert the black/red cable from the cable set into the freed chamber 4, close secondary lock
and re-lock housing onto the brake light switch.
27. Plug the open 1-pin black housings together.
Note
The brake light switch adjustment must not be altered when connecting
•
the cable set. Any adjustment of the brake light switch
must be carried out in accordance VW repair guide.
28. Remove the black cover on the fuse box (Fig. 1/2) and open the purple catch.
29. Remove 10A fuse from pos.5, release the, fuse-protected wire from chamber 5 and insert
into the 1-pin housing on the cable set.
30. Insert the black/blue wire from the cable set into chamber 5 on the fuse box and replace the
10A fuse.
31. Plug the 1-pin housings together.
